Bombardier Revamps Board with Appointment of Bettina Fetzer

Montréal, Dec. 13, 2024 — In a strategic move to enhance its leadership team, Bombardier has announced the appointment of Bettina Fetzer to its Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2025. This change comes as part of Bombardier’s ongoing transformation strategy aimed at strengthening its position in the global aviation market.

Background on Bettina Fetzer

Bettina Fetzer is a distinguished executive with extensive experience in digital and communications strategies. Currently serving as Vice President of Digital & Communications at Mercedes‐Benz AG, Ms. Fetzer has been with the company since 2004. Her career trajectory saw a remarkable ascent beginning with various roles at Daimler AG, evolving to Head of Global Communications at Mercedes‐Benz by 2015. Her achievements continued as she became the youngest Vice President at Mercedes‐Benz in 2018 and the first female Chief Marketing Officer.

Ms. Fetzer has also extended her influence beyond Mercedes‐Benz, serving as a Director of Laureus World Sports Awards Ltd. and a member of the Board of Advisors for the Mercedes‐Benz Museum. Her academic credentials include a Diploma in European Business Studies from Hochschule Landshut, Germany, and a Master’s in Business Management from the Lord Ashcroft International Business School, Cambridge, UK. Additionally, she holds a position on the Board of Directors of Moncler SpA.

Transitions in the Board

Alongside Bettina Fetzer’s appointment, Bombardier announced the departures of Mr. Ji-Xun Foo and Mr. Eric Sprunk from their Board roles due to personal reasons. Mr. Foo and Mr. Sprunk have been influential members since 2022 and 2021, respectively.

Pierre Beaudoin, Chairman of the Board, acknowledged their contributions: “As Messrs. Foo and Sprunk depart from the Board after years of valued participation, I would like to extend my best wishes and personally thank them for the insights and wisdom they brought to Bombardier during their tenure.”
