Toronto, December 10, 2024 – In exciting news for Canadian travelers, Porter Airlines has announced its inaugural flights connecting Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Thunder Bay International Airport (YQT). This move introduces the Embraer E195-E2, a 132-seat aircraft, promising to boost passenger capacity by more than 10%.

A New Chapter in Porter Airlines’ Offerings

With three roundtrip flights per week, Porter Airlines expands its reach, not only servicing Thunder Bay from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) but now also from Toronto Pearson. This new route significantly enhances the airline’s capacity and services, providing more choices and increasing connectivity between Eastern Canada’s vibrant travel hubs.

Extensive Network and Increased Accessibility

Porter Airlines has been a reliable presence in the Thunder Bay community since 2009. Edmond Eldebs, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Porter, emphasized the airline’s commitment to offering “more options at competitive fares for the Thunder Bay community.” This extra connectivity provides travelers access to an extensive network across North America, beyond just Eastern Canada and the U.S., by utilizing both Toronto airports.
